No, Zazzle.com hasn’t lost its marbles. It’s found a widget, a tiny application that is enabling bands creating and selling merchandise on Zazzle.com to launch a miniature version of a Zazzle.com store on their MySpace pages. (read

Swisscom to Offer Zattoo's Free TV Service

— Swisscom has agreed to offer Zattoo's free online TV service to its high speed broadband customers. Users connected to the Swiss telco's VDSL (Very High Speed Digital Subscriber Line) network will receive 20 of Zattoo's most popular TV channels in higher quality, for free. The deal is a boost for Zattoo, which sparked controversy for streaming 23 UK channels including the BBC, Channel 4 and ITV, without licensing deals. Launched in March last year, Zattoo is a Swiss startup that streams live TV content on users' PCs, for free. The company streams 190 channels in several European countries and claims to nearly 2.5m subscribers.

GateHouse to Offer Local Social Network Service through TownConnect

— GateHouse Media New England has reached an agreement with TownConnect, an Internet company in Waltham, to launch a social networking service on all of GateHouse’s 159 Wicked Local community Web sites in Massachusetts. The new “Wicked Local People” service will allow residents of the communities served by GateHouse in this state to participate in a free, secure network to organize online communities of friends and family members, TownConnect CEO Mike Ford said. The service also allows for the creation of online forums where community groups, churches or other organizations can communicate quickly among members. Among other things, participants will be able to share photos, files and calendar listings. The collaboration with TownConnect will also allow GateHouse to offer advertisers targeted opportunities for placing online ads.
