SAN FRANCISCO--AlwaysOn, the Insider’s Network, today announced it will be holding Venture Summit East from April 7 – 9, 2008 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston . The focus of the event will be “Where the Big Money Meets the Big Ideas.” Venture Summit East is a two-day gathering that highlights the significant economic, political, and technology trends impacting the global growth investor. The Venture Summit East program will feature institutional investors, venture capitalists, corporate buyers, investment bankers, and research analysts in the Eastern U.S. in keynote presentations and panel debates.
Venture Summit East will also host 14 "Best of Breed CEO Showcases" handpicked from the AlwaysOn annual top 100 private company list, and 36 other qualified six-minute CEO pitches from companies seeking later-stage capital or potential acquirers.
“With its traditionally strong technology market and heritage in life sciences and academia, Boston is the ideal market to hold a venture summit,” said Tony Perkins, Founder and Editor of AlwaysOn. “Having known many of the venture capitalists in Boston for many years I am confident that this is the style of forum that will promote open discussion and healthy debate between Boston’s emerging corporate leaders and venture firms.”
The goal of Venture Summit East is to match growth-company buyers and sellers and identify the most promising innovation-driven, growth investment opportunities. Executives will be attending Venture Summit East to identify and debate emerging investment opportunities in venture and private equity funds and private growth companies, and to build high-level relationships with technology and greentech CEOs and corporate buyers.
Confirmed speakers for the Venture East Summit include: Woody Benson, General Partner, Prism VentureWorks; Ed Sullivan, Partner, KPMG; David Moore, CEO, 24/7 Real Media; Bill Sahlman, Harvard Business School; Nick MacShane, President, Progress Partners; and many others. Additionally, thirty-six top CEOs will present their market strategies and business partnering objectives on the main stage at Venture Summit East.
